The Maxi Cosi 2-Way Pearl is their only extended rearward facing car seat sold in South Africa. It passes the new EU safety standard R129, which increases the safety level for children in cars, and did well in external crash testing. #CarseatFullstop rating – 4/5 The 2-Way Pearl can be used to rear face your child up to 18kg and 105cm. The seat can be used forward facing as well, if necessary. Maxi Cosi recommends that you only forward face once your child is at least 15 months, in line with the international safety standards. The seat can only be installed with the ISOfix base. When pricing the car seat, please take note that the car seat can only be used with the ISOfix base, which is always priced separately. If you had the Pebble infant seat with the 2wayFix base, the 2-way Pearl will fit on that base. Key features include full recline both rearwards and forward facing and a “stay open harness”. It allows for simultaneous headrest and harness adjustment and because of its compact build, it is compatible with a wide range of ISOfix-fitted cars.
